This is one of the best places for small concerts in the city. It was built in Secession Style and the acoustics are marvelous. Tickets can be had for less than five dollars for most programs, but season ticket sell-outs keep at-the door purchases going. Get seats early, first-come, first-served, as it’s very popular with the locals. Franz Liszt founded the academy. Its small museum displays three of the original pianos that Liszt used to write some of his great compositions, a lock of his hair, his personal prayer book, and a bronze replica of his right hand, not to mention many other items. Cafés or restaurants are steps from the front entrance.
